So by Saturday morning, I was ready to get out and have some fun. And thank ya jezzuz, the weather cooperated! It was a cloudless day and the sun owned the sky, so to the beach we went! As we walked to the beach, I noticed how the sea oats and sea grapes had thrived this summer. We haven't had any tropical storms or hurricanes to erode the beach this year- now if our luck just holds through Nov.

Being in the sun, listening to the gulls, and floating in the Gulf water made my spirits soar. The water was so calm, barely any surf at all. And the water was a balmy 86 degrees. These little girls were so cute as they played in the sand at the water's edge.

The water was so calm, lots of people were enjoying bobbing around in tubes and on rafts-

On our way home, I spotted this houseboat at the end of a private dock. I had Mike stop the car so I could get a closer look.

As I approached the dock, I noticed this plaque in the crook of one of the trees-

This is what I wanted a photo of... look at all the potted plants on this houseboat!

I think I could live quite blissfully on that landscaped houseboat!
As if a day on the beach wasn't enough fun, we went home, showered, dressed, and headed to Cortez Kitchen for an evening of yummy food and great music. I'll post those photos tomorow...
I hope you all had a bit of sunshine and fun in your weekend-

Oh dear don't tell me that the new roof is leaking now! That is not good. But I am glad you could get away from the daily domestic worries just for a little while to have some fun and quiet time. Love the pictures they are great.
I would love to live on a boat like that :D
sad to read about the grand daughter, but yes at least you have closure now
I'm sorry to hear that your granddaughter wouldn't respond to you. It's not much consolation but at least you now she's doing well.
I've had something similar .. over five years ago one of my sisters decided that she didn't want to have anything to do with our family. No contact, no forwarding address or telephone number, nothing. We had no idea whether she was doing well or not.
Finally after my stepdad's memorial service we discovered that one of her friends knew where she was and how she was doing. I still doubt that my sister will ever contact any of us again, but at least now we know that she's okay. And that will just have to suffice.
That one photograph you took of the beach (with the gorgeous flowers) is so peaceful and beautiful.
Take care and enjoy the gorgeous weather!
Oh Linda, I am so sorry your granddaughter doesn't want to talk to you. Maybe in the near future when she realizes her lost, she will contact you again. I will pray for that.
On a happier note, glad you had a nice day on Saturday at the beach. The photos are lovely and that house boat is great.
So you finally got to go to the Cortez Kitchen. :)
Hope you had yummy food and a fun time.
Hugs
Was so sorry to read what you wrote about your granddaughter but am glad that you are dealing with it okay.
who wouldn't love a houseboat like that?
I haven't been anywhere much either and have been struggling with my return to work after being laid off for 4 months, I really thought I was putting the place behind me, I was so depressed about it at first but am dealing with it and who knows what will happen in the next few months, anyway I have finally found some blogging time....and the desire to get on with it...
It saddened me that your granddaughter rebuffed your attempt to communicate with her but at least you tried and can now move on. It seems to happen a lot in families. I have an older sister who ostracised herself from the whole family, including our parents, many years ago and we've never heard from her since.
Your photos are gorgeous, Linda! I have never seen a beach so calm unless there's a manmade sandbar in place...is that the case here?
As for that houseboat...I've always dreamed of living in a cottage by the sea but maybe a houseboat on the sea would be just as lovely and peaceful. Your pics today are making me yearn for a trip to the coast or bayside...it's been far too long.
Linda, I am sorry about Kelsey, I hope she will come back. Even you have some closure, I understand, it hurts.
Your Saturday sound very lovely. Love the pictures, especially one with the flowers in the sand. Nice and pieceful.
I'm glad you're feeling a bit better about Kelsey. She knows where you are if she ever changes her mind...and that's all you can do.
Now that's my kind of day at the beach! Looks glorious. And what a gorgeous houseboat! They're fascinating and I'd love to spend some time on one. Don't know if I'd like living there full time...maybe.
Aww I'm so sorry to hear that Linda, but am glad you have some kind of closure. We never know what the future holds, things may someday change. On the other hand, looks like you had a marvelous weekend!! Gorgeous photos, thanks for sharing!
big hugs,
Sprite
