Still catching up...

I got so far behind when I was laid up healing my aching out ol' body. Sprite gave me this award and I am just now getting it posted. Thank you, Sprite! That is so sweet of you.
And I will pass it on to some of my favorite blogs:

Judi A

Norma

I did do a bit of art work last week. I started sculpting a face for a relief piece- this is a small one (3") I will put on a tile. I still haven't found the right base to use for the large Lady of the Sea relief. Anyway- here is a picture of the face. Remember it is in the rough and just the beginning.

I finished the sun canvas. I used mulberry paper for the yellow sky, gold and bronze Ute stuff, acrylic paints, pens, water color pencils, and copper metal.
Someone asked me where I got the inspiration for this canvas- right outside my front door! One evening I took photos of the sun setting, and sky looked like liquid gold with dollops of orange, yellow and reds. After taking oodles of shots trying to get a good picture of the canvas I finally gave up. Even without using a flash I still get a glare from the glaze finish. It really does look better than this in real life-LOL All the photos should enlarge to full size when clicked...

A close-up of one corner-

The sun-

The rains are gone, and the sun has spent the day slipping in and out from behind the clouds that were left behind. The sunset that we watched from our yard was so brilliant last night, we are going out to the island this evening to watch the sun fall into the Gulf of Mexico. Hopefully it will be just as colorful as last night. So yes, you will probably have to look at more sunset photos soon-LOL
Peace-
Linda

Congratulations on your award, Linda, though not surprising at all.

The 'face' is off to a great start!

LOVE 'the sun' piece....the close-up shows the texture beautifully.

I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your sunset pics ~ :)

your sun canvas looks really nice :) lots of warm colours that help create a feeling of heat.

LOVE YOUR SUN CANVAS!
What a beautiful piece. The lady looks as though she is soaking up the rays from the sun.

Love your sculpt! I'll be so anxious to see how she comes together on the tile.
And your canvas really is spectacular. I had to enlarge every photo to see all the delicious elements. Love the splashes of gold, as well as the copper!
P.S. Thanks for the award!
